Qi (pronounced chee) is the mysterious energy that is behind all life force and so essential to health. The needles, used properly, bring this energy into alignment and allow the energy to flow unimpeded through the entire body system. Acupuncture has been used for over 30 centuries effectively providing relief and healing.
Moxibustion is a treatment using an herb called mugwort. The herb is burned, warming the needles or acupuncture points to quicken the healing process. Moxibustion nourishes the places where energy is low and encourages the body's own healing mechanisms.
Cupping is designed to move the blood, dispel pain, and open the lungs to assist breathing. Small glass cups are placed over specific areas of the body. A vacuum is created under the cup using suction. This lifts the skin and brings blood, i.e. circulation, which promotes a healing response from the body to the afflicted area.
Herbal Formulas may be recommended by your Acupuncturist as a powerful segment of your treatment. Herbal Formulas work internally to clear pathology and strengthen the body's vital system by inspiring healthy function.
Tui Na massage manually moves Qi in various parts of the body clearing blocks, improving range of motion in the joints, increases circulation, and relieves pain.
Nutritional Counseling allows for the continuity of work between treatments by using food as medicine.
